In game 1 of the CMWS the Southern California Renegades defeated the Ann Arbor Travelers 6-5. Renegades pitcher Sam Moore went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts to earn the victory.
The score was tied 1-1 going into the 5th inning when the Renegades exploded for 4 runs with back to back doubles by Max Schuman & Turner Clouse. Jackson Willeford finished off the scoring with a 3 run homerun to right center field.
The Travelers mounted a come back with 2 runs in the 6th and 7th innings but fell short with runners in scoring position when Renegades pitcher Kyle Davis struck out 2 hitters in a row to close the game.
